How do our fees work?
We operate a transparent fee policy. We agree fees with you prior to the acceptance of any assignment. All fee structures and payment plans are agreed by quotation and contract. Every client has different requirements, and our fee structures are tailored to you
OUR FEES (Disbursements and GST)
The fees which we will charge are set out in our engagement letter. If the engagement letter specifies a fixed fee, we will charge this for the agreed scope of our services. In fixing this fee, we take into account matters such as:
- time spent;
- the skill and knowledge and responsibility required;
- the value or stakes of the transaction;
- the complexity, novelty, importance and urgency of the matter;
- the reasonable costs of running a practice; and
- the result.
Where our fees are calculated on an hourly basis, the hourly rates are set out in our letter of engagement. We adjust these rates from time to time to reflect levels of experience and changes in overheads.
In providing our services we may incur disbursements on your behalf. These will be included in our invoice to you when the expense is incurred. Disbursement charges may include the following:
- courier charges;
- extensive photocopying;
- government filing and registration fees;
- court fees;
- service agents;
- travel expenses; and
- other costs relevant to your matter.
GST must be charged in all cases except where the service supplied is deemed to be a “zero rated supply” ie supplied outside New Zealand.
Part of our success is being able to provide cost effective advice for your personal or business plans. We ask the right questions, listen and understand your requirements and then efficiently assess your needs. We provide a written document with step by step processes to achieve your end goal. The journey is enjoyable when there is an agreed plan.
